2011 Oklahoma

In the very early 2oth century, in Oklahoma Territory, cowboy Curly calls to invite Laurey to that evening’s Box Social. To spite Curley, Laurey agrees to go to the Social with Jud Fry, Aunt Eller’s surly farmhand. Meanwhile Laurey’s friend Ado Annie, who has an ‘understanding’ with cowboy Will Parker, but who falls for nearly every man she meets, is currently infatuated with peddler Ali Hakim.  We follow the action as it unfolds before, during and after the Box Social.

In 1905, in the little village of Anatevka in Russia, Tevye the milkman and his wife Golde work hard to make a decent life for their five daughters. When it comes to finding good husbands for the girls, Golde turns to the village matchmaker, Yente, to make the arrangements. But the girls have different ideas about marriage and, one by one, they fall in love and decide their own futures.

Blitz! tells the story of an East End community fighting the battle of the home front in between the air raids, early in WWII.

With a cast of feisty characters and any number of terrific songs, Blitz! is a musical about sweethearts and sacrifice, laughter and loneliness and looking your opponents squarely in the eye.

2008 The Pirates of Penzance

It’s Frederic’s birthday, so his pirate comrades celebrate his coming of age and official membership of their brotherhood. Frederic’s nursery maid, Ruth, confesses that she  had misheard the instruction to apprentice him as a pilot. At this, Frederic decides that it is his duty to leave his long-time friends to their dastardly trade. But on his way back to civilisation he meets a group of beautiful young girls paddling on the beach…

2007 The Ragged Child

A moving account of child deprivation in London in the 1850s, The Ragged Child is about the plight of the poor and destitute, mirrored in the tragic lives of Joe Cooper and his sister Annie.

Lord Shaftesbury fights for the education of the poor in the House of Lords and, from an inauspicious beginning, the `Ragged Schools’ are founded – but it is too late for Joe and Annie.

2006 Half a Sixpence

2006 Half a Sixpence

Half a Sixpence, based on H. G Wells’ novel Kipps,  is set in Folkestone in the early 1900s and charts the ‘rags to riches’  story of shop boy Arthur Kipps who inherits a fortune. Despite his efforts to join the upper classes he is really still in love with his childhood sweetheart Ann. The pair end happily married, living in modest comfort after Arthur loses his inheritance to an unscrupulous business man.
